Highlighting Issey Miyake’s concept in clothing design of “A Piece of Cloth,” Ando devised the idea for the roof as one sheet of folded steel. The Z Island is the first project to use a new interactive technology developed for DuPont Corian that allows interactive touch sensitive areas and information display on the surface of the Corian material.
